REMINDER: Lombardo Embraces Trump’s Plans to Dismantle the Dept. of Education, Gut Critical Funding From Nevada Public Schools 

While Joe Lombardo attempts to spin his record, here’s a reminder that he gave his full-throated endorsement of Donald Trump’s executive order to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education. While Lombardo caves to Trump every chance he gets, Attorney General Aaron Ford blocked the president’s illegal attempt to gut nearly $1 billion per year in funding for Nevada schools and students. 

Under Lombardo’s failed leadership, Nevada ranks 46th in both K-12 education and overall child well-being. In addition to backing Trump’s steep funding cuts, Lombardo vetoed a bill that would have guaranteed school meals for every student and now parents in Washoe County accrued more than $200,000 in debt because they can’t afford school meals for their kids.
